Kerri Fergusson

I have 26 years of experience working in the field of investigations in both central and local government. I have completed a Diploma of (NZ) Policing and a Master of Arts - Fraud and Financial Investigation.

Having trained and worked as an investigator and manager of investigators I became aware of the need to develop a course for those wanting to learn investigations that could be used as a baseline or to enhance their skills in this field of work.

Having worked successfully on investigations in New Zealand and with foreign countries on cases of Fraud, Exploitation and Trafficking, I have also helped coach and train investigators to use Data Analytics and Intelligence to identify victims and offenders of serious crime, anti-money laundering and large-scale fraud. This made me realise that to be successful in combating crime across any regulatory agency, there was a real need to help others learn investigations well and the programmes we have developed are evidence of that.

With nearly two decades of experience in Human Resources and Learning & Development, I've had the pleasure of working with global pharmaceutical and FMCG companies and also government agencies in New Zealand to create effective learning solutions that help organisations thrive in a time of disruption.

My expertise in learning design, performance management, project and change management has allowed me to successfully implement leadership and succession pipeline programs, competency frameworks, employee engagement initiatives, and employee recognition programs. Recently, my focus has been on designing and implementing tools for improving organisational culture.

I regularly share my knowledge and expertise at HR and L&D conferences and meet-ups; in January 2024 I was appointed the HRNZ Branch President for Auckland.

I hold a Masters in Psychology of Business and Management, a postgraduate diploma in Human Resources Management, and a postgraduate diploma in Competency Management. Additionally, I'm certified in SAFe® 5, Hogan Assessment Systems, SHL, and Prince2® Foundation.
